About me
Hi friends, I’m Stacey!
It only takes a few chats with friends to realise there is a huge elephant in the room that no one is educating us on. I’m referring to hormonal imbalances, gut health issues, and the general challenge of juggling a hundred things in life (hi there, high-achieving and performing women).
I’ve been there. Battling hormone imbalances (diagnosed hypothalamic amenorrhea for years), gut conditions including autoimmunity (celiac disease since I was a teen), and wanting to reach ‘success’ as fast as possible. Then you reach out for help only to be told that medication, birth control, a psychologist, or ‘just don’t worry’ will help..
Through my own journey, I realised there has to be a better way that is more natural, holistic, sustainable and straightforward to navigate and implement in life.
Balance With Friends is a space where I share personal experiences, evidence-based research, and practical tips on achieving holistic health — whether it's navigating hormonal imbalances, improving gut health, or finding balance in daily life.
I’m a certified yoga instructor, having completed my 200-hour Vinyasa and Hatha training, as well as a 50-hour Yin Yoga certifications. Currently, I’m expanding my expertise through courses in Gut Health, Hormone Health and Health Coaching with the Institute for Integrative Nutrition.
I’m not a medical doctor, but my goal is to offer helpful insights that empower you to take agency of your health. Feel free to explore my blog, leave a comment, or reach out — I’d love to hear from you!
With love and balance my Friends x

Balance is a concept that can mean many things—mental or emotional stability, or finding the right proportions of elements in life. For me, it’s the feeling of equilibrium, knowing that my time is spent wisely, prioritizing what’s important to me. But balance isn’t static. It’s a fluid process, and there will be times of imbalance — and that’s okay.
What does balance mean to you? Take a moment to reflect on a time when you truly felt balanced. Where were you? What were your habits? Who were you surrounded by? What made that season of your life feel so balanced, and are there any changes you could make now to recreate that feeling? Perhaps, as you think about that time, there are some changes you can make now to bring yourself closer to that feeling of balance again.

Hormones are like the crew behind the scenes, managing almost everything in your body—energy levels, mood, sleep, digestion, and even how you handle stress. They’re the unsung heroes that keep the show running smoothly. When your hormones are balanced, you feel great—focused, calm, and full of energy. But when they’re out of sync? Cue the brain fog, mood swings, fatigue, and those 'WTF' moments that make everything feel off.
If one crew member is a little off, it can throw the show out of sync. The good news is your lifestyle and diet can play a huge role in regulating healthy hormone balance. That’s what I hope to help you figure out here—because once you understand your hormones, you can start working with your body, not against it. Stay tuned through the blog for tips on how to regain balance and feel your best!

Yes!! While your brain often gets all the credit, your gut is working just as hard—if not harder. Often called your second brain, your gut is home to trillions of bacteria that influence everything from digestion to mood. In fact, some experts argue your gut might actually be your first brain, since it produces more serotonin (your happy hormone) than your brain does. How cool is that?
Your gut and brain are in constant communication through the gut-brain axis—a two-way street that lets them send signals back and forth. So, if your gut isn’t happy—think bloating, discomfort, or irregular digestion—chances are your mood, focus, and overall well-being won’t be either.
Supporting your gut with the right foods, habits, and lifestyle changes can create a ripple effect that boosts not just your gut health, but also your mind, mood, and overall well-being.
